According to JTA, the government has not provided a 50 percent wage increase, as agreed in 2014.

Indonesian teacher salaries vary greatly depending on the status and quality of the school. Civil servant teachers and teachers in middle class schools are quite prosperous, while honorary and non-certified teachers are very poor. The government must immediately set minimum standards for teacher salaries, both in state and private schools.

The Conclusion is Standardization of teacher salaries for both civil servants and non-civil servants will change the image of the teaching profession, attract the interest of the community to become teachers, and encourage fierce competition for intelligent young people to enter the teaching faculty or attend Teacher Professional Education.

The great responsibility of a teacher should be rewarded with great appreciation too because the teacher bears great responsibility and mandate is a difficult thing to live. Appreciation for teachers is a form of respect for the state because teacher services can create a generation of people who are intelligent and of character.
