Do People Like Their First Name ?

Talking about names turns out there are people who do not like the name.  Why did it happen ?  how can there be someone who doesn't like his own name?  and do you belong to people who don't like your own name?.  Alright  before we start the discussion I want to explain the meaning of the name.  What is the name ? names are labels given to objects, people, places, products (for example, product brands) and even ideas or concepts, which are usually used to distinguish one another.  Names can be used to identify a group or just an object in a unique or given context.

For example there are 2 children named Delana Pence and Amber Gibson who these children do not like their first names because they always get ridicule from people around them. Cleveland Kent Evans, an associate professor of psychology at Bellevue University, who has studied given names for more than 20 years. "A great many people-more women than men-go through a period during their adolescence where they dislike their name as part of the general adolescent concern with identity and what other people think of them." he said. "But I think for most people these feelings subside by the time they are in their 30s."

This story also experienced by my mother too.  My mother's name is Meilani and apparently her given name is Siti Nur Hasanah. FYI  I just found out the story behind my mother's name after being told by my gradmother. The name was given by his uncle.  The reason is because Siti nur hasanah is the name of my uncle's ex girlfriend.  And my grandmother did not like the name given to her child. Before entering school my grandmother changed my mother's name and offered to choose the name Melani or Meilani.  And finally my mother chose the name is Meilani.  My grandmother said the name was given because my mother was born in May and is easy to remember.

The name chosen is a parent's prayer and great hope for her child. Most people believe that names can also shape personality and influence the emotional development and nature of their owners, both directly and indirectly. My name is Ananda Faiza Azzahra, this name was given by my mother.  Ananda means my son, Faiza means lucky and Azzahra is one of the names of the Prophet Muhammad's son who is pious and religious.  So my name has the meaning of my son who is lucky like the son of the prophet Muhammad.  I really like my name because it is a prayer and my name   is hope of my parents.
