Review Text Naming Traditions

Naming Tradition is a way of naming a person or group in a country.  Can be a family name, maiden name, given name and others.  The story begins at the meeting of Presidents from 2 countries namely America and South Korea.  And there was a misunderstanding when American President Bill Clinton mistakenly called the wife of the President of South Korea, President Kim Young Sam.  President Clinton repeatedly referred to President Kim's wife as Mrs. Kim.  In Korea, wives should maintain their girl's name.  The name of President Kim's wife is Mrs. Sohn Myong Suk.  Usually called Mrs. Sohn.  This also made President Kim offended and President Clinton was embarrassed.  So we can underline that don't assume married women use their husbands' initial names. As is common in our Indonesian country.  Apparently this does not apply in some countries.
Each country has its own uniqueness and diversity in the context of naming traditional.

"  We expect names to follow predictable structures, but that’s not always the case. In the United States, we understand names according to the following paradigm:

- The first name, also known as a given name or personal name, identifies an individual. It is normally given to a person at birth by his or her parents.
- The surname, also known as a family name, last name, or gentile name, is inherited and shared with other members of the individual’s immediate family.
- This categorization of names, however, while common in western societies, is not globally uniform. Depending on certain cultures and/or customs, naming conventions can and will vary. " - Naming tradition written by Kathy Moore

The advantage of this story is to add insight and knowledge to the reader about naming traditional in several countries.  This story also educates its readers to find out more about naming traditional in other countries. The flaws of this story for me as the reader is confused.  For example, they are migrants to other countries, sometimes they are still confused when they call people's names in their daily lives. There are still mistakes in the naming tradition.  So maybe it takes habit and knowledge in the naming tradition of each nation.  Because every country has its own diversity and uniqueness to the naming tradition. If we visit a country, we should find out about the country's traditional name and may also ask local people to introduce and teach about the traditions of the country.
